So close to the end Gale is gathering the last bit of energy she has to get passed the last two obstacles!
Entry 7 of 8 for the Viking Mud Skirmish 2017: OPEN
Story:
Knowing that she only had two more obstacles to go Gale was more determined than ever to finish.
She had to make it over a set of hurdles without knocking them over.
Knowing she was getting tired she had to really pull the last bit of energy she had in her to finish in a good time.
"I have apples waiting for you Gale!" Alexis yelled at the mare seeing that she was getting exhausted.
The prospect of delicious red juicy apples gave Gale that last little motivation that she needed to get through the last obstacles without trailing behind.
Gale prepared herself for the last few jumps and began leaping over the loose hurdles trying not to clip them on her way over.
There were several hurdles to jump over so Gale had to concentrate really hard to keep a good rhythm going so that she wouldn't misstep and trip. With just a few hurdles to go, she sped up and flew over the last ones.
She landed on the ground and sighed with relief knowing that she was almost done and could eat delicious apples soon.
Alexis had already started making her way to the logs and prepared the harness that was provided for this last obstacle.
Gale sprinted towards the logs looking for Alexis in the crowd. She wasn't hard to spot with her fire red hair.
The mare raced over to her handler and slid to a stop in front of her surrounding them both in a cloud of dust.
"Well done Gale" Alexis muttered while dusting herself off. Gale just smiled a bright smile at her while breathing heavy.
The mare took several deep breaths trying to control her breathing and slow her heart rate down. She needed all the strength she could gather for this last obstacle.
